Deciding against a repair is one step; preparing the car for sale is another. A workshop may have started diagnosis, ordered parts or moved the vehicle since your first enquiry. Confirm its final state before the collection booking is treated as ready.
Tell the repairer your decision
Ask what work has already been completed and what arrangements remain. Confirm the account and vehicle release process directly. Do not assume declining further repair work means the car is automatically ready to leave immediately.
If parts were ordered or removed, ask which items are with the vehicle and how they will be handed over. Keep those details factual and separate from the buyer’s offer.
Update the buyer’s description
Give the current fault information and component inventory. Explain whether the vehicle is still assembled and whether its mobility has changed. Send updated photographs if the earlier ones no longer show its present condition.
If your first quote assumed a complete car at home, a partly dismantled car in a workshop is a different package and collection location. Ask the buyer to confirm the current terms.
Align the two businesses
Provide the workshop contact, entrance and opening hours through the agreed booking process. Ask where the driver should report and who will release keys or included parts. Confirm whether you need to attend to complete the transaction.
Check whether the workshop requires preparation before loading and who is responsible for arranging it. Leave technical handling to the appropriate professionals.
Keep the final confirmation together
Record the vehicle, agreed inclusions, amount or remaining inspection conditions, payment arrangement and pickup window. Retain the workshop release record separately. If any part of the plan changes, inform both contacts before pickup.
SA Wrecker’s broken car buying team can discuss a vehicle after your repair decision. If other damage is present, disclose it through cash for damaged cars. Our damaged car removal service can assess the current workshop collection requirements.
