Photographs can start an accident car enquiry, but they cannot establish every damaged component or determine whether the vehicle is safe. Use them to show the visible condition and explain what remains unknown. Take images only from positions you can reach safely.
Pair overall views with detail
Start with complete views of the vehicle and then show the affected area. A close-up of a bumper is easier to understand when the buyer can also see the corner of the car it belongs to. Show the opposite side where accessible rather than photographing only the most damaged area.
If a door, panel or window is damaged, describe whether you know of other affected components. Do not remove bodywork or enter an unsafe cabin to improve the photo set.
Keep visible damage separate from diagnosis
Label observations as observations. “Front-left wheel appears displaced” communicates a visible issue; “only cosmetic damage” makes a much broader claim that a photograph may not support.
Add relevant assessor or repairer findings where available and identify their source. If no professional assessment has occurred, say so. A buyer can then decide whether it needs an inspection before confirming an offer.
Show the current collection location
Include the space around the vehicle, entrance and known access restrictions. Tell the operator whether wheels, keys and loose panels are present. Explain anything you know about rolling or steering limitations without testing an unsafe vehicle.
Photos taken at the accident scene may not describe the condition or location after recovery. Provide a current update if the car is now in storage or at a workshop.
Protect unrelated information
Keep personal documents, claim correspondence and other people’s identifying details out of a general photo message. Share necessary records separately through the buyer’s requested process.
SA Wrecker can discuss cash for accident cars using your current description. For pickup, enquire about accident car removal. If the vehicle is being assessed as salvage, our salvage car removal service is relevant; a heavily damaged car may also be discussed through wrecked car removal, subject to assessment.
